Yesterday’s plan…

on August 23, 2012

As most of my “followers” on Facebook know, last night I was just too tired after working to work on this blog.  However, I feel that, with that in mind, I should actually let you know WHY I was going to write yesterday.  It’s because yesterday, August 22, was the birthday of late Alice in Chains vocalist, Layne Staley.

Now, some of you may be asking, “Well, why would that be so important to you?”…or not.  Well, I would be “more than happy” (RIP G.C.) to explain…because the anniversary of his death actually falls on my youngest daughter’s birthday.  Being that very few people are reading this, I’m expecting the cricket symphony, but it means a lot to me.

Without sapping the energy out of my dwindling audience, I will get to the point.  Alice In Chains was one of the first metal bands that I had actually enjoyed.  They were a key focal point of the whole “movement” that was on at the time.  I mean, once fellow southpaw Kurt Cobain wowed people with his performances, Layne Staley proved to be among legends in his field.

Well, without feeling like a “Man in a Box”, I will bid you all a fond farewell…I’ve had a pretty rough day and it’s time to “relax” /,,,/. ROCK ON DUDEZ ./,,,/

RIP Layne Staley (August 22, 1967 – April 5, 2002)
