Yet another anniversary…

on September 18, 2012

Today, September 18th, marks the 42nd anniversary of the passing of one of the greatest left-handed guitarists to ever walk the face of the Earth, Jimi Hendrix.  However, being that this is actually one of very few things to take place before my birth, I can’t give you any intricate details on his life (other than his music).

Influenced by greats such as B.B. King and Muddy Waters, as well as being influenced by another great southpaw, Dick Dale, his unique style of playing guitar has not been (at least to my recollection) repeated.

His 27 years on this planet were not enough…but we have countless amounts of time to spend with his music.

James Marshall “Jimi” Hendrix–November 27, 1942 – September 18, 1970 RIP

WOOT!!! JIMI HENDRIX RULES!!! I may have never heard his songs (at least, not that I know of) but at least I’ve heard of the guy! Unlike most kids in my generation who say stuff like “Who’s Jimi Hendrix?” or “I bet (insert new rap artist’s name here) is way better than he was or ever will be!” For those of you who think that, well I have but one thing to say:

That’s right, screw you to those who don’t even know who Jimi Hendrix is -.-*
